The Muizenberg Community Watch (MCW) is dedicated to fostering a secure and vibrant neighbourhood through community engagement, awareness, and collaboration.
We're the only official community safety group in the Muizenberg area, and as an organisation established by the community for the community, our aim is to create a thriving neighbourhood that is safe for all.
Drawing on the strength of combined efforts, we work in collaboration with MID, Law Enforcement, SAPS, CPF, Mountain Men and private security providers.

If you are a Muizenberg resident and you live within the boundaries of our patrol map (see below), you can sign up via an online form to join the MCW. Note that we will require a copy of your ID as part of a mandatory background check process.

The MCW works collaboratively with SAPS, LE, CPF, Muizenberg Improvement District (MID), ADT and all private security providers (PSPs) contracted to operate in the MCW bounds.

The Muizenberg Community Watch members & patrols currently reside within 6 pods as outlined on the map below. If you live within these bounds you are eligible to apply for membership, and become part of the patrol team if you wish to be an active member.
How can you get involved?
The core responsibility of a neighbourhood watch is to be the eyes and ears of the community. We give MCW members the opportunity to participate in whichever way they are able to by offering a multiple options for engagement.

Active MCW members can partake in regular area patrols (vehicle/on foot) or do control room duty and monitor CCTV cameras. Join here.

Passive MCW members are the eyes and ears of their area & report any incidents or activities on the members-only Whatsapp Group. Join here.
